Many long-standing issues confront people around the world, including a shortage of food and clean water, poverty, diseases, natural catastrophes, and conflict. To help alleviate these societal issues, new technologies have been developed. Thanks to technology developments, ordinary people may now handle huge issues without relying on governments, experts, or even strong individuals. The internet, cell phones, social media, and mobile applications have all played a role in the settlement of several global crises. This article asserts that the development of mobile devices is the most important technology in addressing global challenges in the context of social media and digital humanitarianism.
The terrible earthquake in Haiti, according to studies, inspired the emergence of digital humanitarianism, a movement that tries to respond to disasters by applying transformational social, economic, and political practices (Chen et al, 2020). Since then, catastrophes have been managed utilizing mobile and digital technologies, forcing the humanitarian paradigm to shift. Mobile devices have become the most significant instrument for resolving global challenges due to their capacity to combine technical applications such as the internet, social media platforms, money transfer, and mapping apps.
There are five ways that mobile technology may aid in humanitarian situations. People can communicate in times of crisis through texts, phone calls, or the internet, for starters, because of fundamental connection. Second, relief groups can give aid through humanitarian monetary transfers, such as utilizing mobile money. In Kenya, for example, mobile network carriers Safaricom and Airtel collaborate with relief groups like the Red Cross to collect donations in the event of an emergency. The third method that mobile devices assist is by establishing identity by verifying people who have been affected by calamities. Fourth, mobile technology has improved access to utilities such as electricity and water, particularly for those in developing countries. Finally, a study found that mobile technology enable communities self-organize and respond to crises, which improves dignity and choice.
Climate change, tsunamis, drought, floods, storms, and terrorism are all contemporary global issues that result in fatalities, injuries, and property destruction. Simultaneously, the usage of smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices has grown (George et al, 2021). As a result, governments, relief groups, and regular individuals should embrace mobile technology to give help and communication during catastrophes. Policymakers and entrepreneurs should build software and mobile technologies to reduce damage, save lives, and connect with the public in this respect.
Mobile devices, particularly internet-enabled smartphones, enable users to access social media sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, which are all altering the world in various ways. The health business, for example, uses social media reviews to improve its performance. It also allows others who are suffering from a similar illness to connect and remain in touch. Second, social media is assisting in the resolution of the problem of terrible governance by allowing individuals to share ideas, efforts, and plans, therefore assisting leaders in being more responsible, transparent, and hardworking.
New technology, as mentioned in this article, aids in the alleviation of social issues such as natural catastrophes. Mobile phone technology has been demonstrated to be the most essential instrument in tackling world problems in the context of social media and digital humanitarianism. People may now communicate with intimate family members, relatives, friends, business partners, and clients via mobile devices. Mobile phones assist in communicating with catastrophe victims using innovative methods such as hotspots and crisis apps, therefore improving resilience and collaboration among humanitarian players. Mobile technology benefits both people who are impacted and those who are assisting by boosting access to information and communication.

Outline for Written Report
Directions: In this assignment, you will create an outline for your written report. To complete the assignment, you will need to do some initial research on the topic. This requires you to search for articles and books on the library website that relate to the topic. Once you have organized what you have found, the next step is to develop the paper’s outline. You will type the outline provide on pages 3-4 of this document.
TOPIC: What is the most important new technology for solving world problems?
Your introduction provides context to your readers to prepare them for your paper’s argument or purpose. An introduction should begin with discussion of yourspecific topic (not a broad background overview) and provide just enough context (definitions of key terms, for example) to prepare your readers for your thesis or purpose statement which is usually attached as the last sentence of the introduction paragraph.
II. Thesis or Statement of Purpose
A thesis or purpose statement should come at the end of your introduction and state clearly and concisely what the purpose or central argument of your paper is. The introduction prepares your reader for this statement, and the rest of the paper follows in support of it.
After the initial introduction, background on your topic often follows. This paragraph or section might include a historical overview of relevant information about the topic. The purpose of this section is to justify your own project or paper by pointing out a gap in the current research which your work will address.
IV. Major & Minor Points
Major points are the building blocks of your paper. There are usually 3-4 of these. Major points build on each other, moving the paper forward and toward its conclusion. Each major point should be a clear claim that relates to the central argument (see thesis) of your paper.
Minor points are subtopics within your major points. Minor points develop the nuances of your major points but may not be significant enough to warrant extended attention on their own. These may come in the form of statistics, examples from your sources, or supporting ideas.
Each major point should advance the paper’s central argument, often building on the previous points, until you have provided enough evidence and analysis to justify your paper’s conclusion.
Your conclusion both restates your paper’s major claim and ties that claim into a larger discussion. Rather than simply reiterating each major and minor point, quickly revisit your thesis statement and focus on ending the paper by tying your thesis into current research in your field, next steps for other researchers, your broader studies, or other future implications.
