Paper Outline and References
For the final paper, I will focus on Social Problem Poverty. My paper will explain the details on sociology being a part of poverty. My main goal is to focus on poverty being and social problems. Poverty is something that’s has been a social problem for a long time now and it has taken a toll on economics in our nation. Poverty is a situation where individuals are deprived of essential needs such as food, water, access to health care, and other social amenities. It is characterized by low standards of living and limited resources which cannot satisfy basic human needs. Presently in the United States, and other countries across the globe, poverty is a major social problem that needs to be addressed. Poverty classifies as a social problem because it has adverse consequences on many people within a society. It creates misery and suffering in a serious magnitude that underscores the need for society to reduce its impact or alleviate it altogether. Poverty results in poor health, lack of education, low social mobility, and increased crime among the deprived individuals. Poverty is a key contributor to social tensions that can in turn threaten or divide a society or a nation, due to difficulties in dealing with unequal distribution of resources.
