HUMAN SEXUALITY 1
Human sexuality plays a vital role in a person’s growth and development regardless of age and gender. My experience has rather been fascinating as it has formed the basis what I do and answers the great question-who am I and ho I express myself as a sexual being? Being of female gender, I have learnt to take care of myself especially sexually as I have had guidance from my parents and mentors. I consider myself lucky as human sexuality is one of the areas that parents do not like discussing with their children. I fully understand the different changes that occur in and outside of my body as they are caused different hormonal changes that contribute to growth and development particularly sexually.
The documentary relates to this class in that, human sexuality start way before w are born but the human sex hormones starts to be felt mostly at adolescence stage. This is demonstrate by a 13 year old girl named Celina who is sold by a pimp to men for sexual gratification. Celina was caught by police in a casino and the narrator terms her as a sex traffic victim and not a criminal (Lyon, 2012).just like any other girl used to quench men’s sexual thirst. Additionally, men also admit to having sex with prostitutes and are educated on the risk of contracting STDs and STIs. An analysis of the age is done and it proves that all ages from 20 years are represented. One man also admits being married and despite having a wife, he seeks for prostitutes and pays them to have sex with him as he has what he terms as sex addition.
After years of sexual abuse by men old enough to be her father, Celina still feels filthy and she describes her experience as depressing and when alone she finds herself crying over the situation. This may be attributed to the fact that she is young and being female, sex happens inside her and that’s a situation hard to forget. Girls in the brothel contemplate to working in the street to give the pimps the bare minimums hence are sexually enslaved (Lyon, 2012). The documentary is an evidence of the sexual desires of humans and it starts early. If the person does not control his/her sexual desires they risk contracting sexually transmitted diseases. The narrator discovers that young girls sell themselves off to men online and experiment on it only to prove that it was true. She has numerous men contacting her after she posts a photo when she was 14 year. The men don’t care about her age; the only thing they care about is to quench their thirst with her body
I learnt that sexual hormones are always present in our bodies and we need to control them to avoid becoming sexual addicts. I also learnt that, we should speak about sexual trafficking be it physical or online to protect girls.
I felt disgusted by the men who paid girls for sexual gratification despite them being old enough to be the girl’s father. It is also a great shame for the women who trade young girls for money not caring the risk they are putting the girl through. The women ought to be the ones taking care of the girls and they do centrally to their responsibility. Finally, I feel that we should always have a stand as human being and be in a position to control our sexual desire. W have a brain, we are not like the rest of the animals and therefore we should always have a stand.
