The author provides multiple explanations for how people are motivated. Each of these explanations operates on a slightly different mechanism (e.g., weighing the value of an outcome versus comparing your outcomes to others). However, these motivational theories, which have each been scientifically tested in some way, all interact with one another to influence an individual’s effort. They do not operate in isolation from one another.
For this assignment, provide an example of how expectancy, goal setting, equity, and psychological empowerment interact to influence someone’s effort. You may use any example you wish, workplace or non workplace. Your example should clearly demonstrate each of the four motivation processes above individually as well as how they interact.
